PHOTO AD ADVANTAGES
It's a fact -- it's much easier to sell a car if you have photos. You'll want to have the best quality possible, and the more, the better. Your online ad can accommodate up to 6 photos.
You See the Ad You Just Placed, but not the Photos
If you placed your ad within the last 48 hours, your photo may still be processing. The photo is a much larger file than the ad, and it sometimes takes slightly longer to appear online.
If you placed your ad more than 48 hours ago, please contact our office at 831-757-2277.
Uploading Photos to Your Computer
For complete instructions on transferring pictures to your computer, please consult the owner's manual for your camera. For general reference, there are 3 ways to transfer photos:
- With a USB cable
You can use a USB cable to connect your digital camera to your computer. Most digital cameras come with a USB cable -- plug one end into the camera and the other into the computer. Your computer reads your camera like it's another drive on your computer, and software already installed on your computer can help you get the photos off your camera. - With a memory card
Some computers come with a slot for memory cards or a cable with a reader. Simply insert your digital camera's memory card into the computer or reader and your computer will recognize the card and ask where you'd like to save your photos. To find them easily later, save them in the My Pictures folder. - With a docking station
Your camera may have a docking station, or you can buy one if your camera is compatible. The docking station plugs into your computer and sits on your desk to make connecting your camera to your computer a little easier.
Supported File Formats:
.JPG, .JPEG, .PNG or .GIF
Recommended Photo Sizes:
Most cameras have settings to control photo size. Select a size or quality setting that makes the image 640 x 480 or larger (but not too much larger) for best results. Keep in mind, we resize and optimize all images for presentation and speed on our site.
Resolution Tips:
Larger image files take a long time to upload on a slow Internet connection. A higher or finer resolution produces a better quality image, but it creates a large file. If you have DSL or a cable modem, you can upload your image as-is, since upload speed should be fast. If you have a dial-up connection, you may want to try reducing the quality setting on your camera to create a smaller file.
Digital cameras have different features for controlling quality and resolution. Please consult your owner's manual to determine which settings work best.
You Don't Have a Digital Camera, but Want to Upload Digital Photos
You can take film to your local photo-processing lab and request a photo CD. Or you can turn prints into digital pictures with the help of a scanner.
